Striking Terracotta Mid Century Modern Art Pottery Brutalist Figure Sculpture x2

Pair of Mid Century Modern terracotta pottery sculptures, dating from approximately the 1950s–1970s. These are striking abstract anthropomorphic brutalist figures, handmade in unglazed terracotta with remnants of a blue-toned slip or wash and a naturally aged surface. The sculptural form and naive facial features are typical of mid-century modern decorative studio pottery. Both pieces are hollow with open bases, intended as decorative art objects rather than functional vessels. They work extremely well as statement pieces in modern, brutalist, or eclectic interiors, and would also suit sheltered outdoor display. Sizes (approx):

• Smaller figure: 28 cm height
